Levels
Levels are names for the depth of your structure, such as College, Department, Course, Year and Batch, or Company, Location, Department and Team. A child channel’s level must be deeper than its parent’s, but you may skip a level. A college with no campuses goes straight from College to Department.
Channels
Every organisation has one top channel, the organisation itself. Everything else sits under it. Following a channel brings everything sent to that channel and to every channel above it. A student who follows Batch A also gets notices sent to the whole college.
How people join
Each channel chooses how people join:
- Open: anyone with the link, the QR code or a search result joins at once.
- On approval: the request goes to the people who handle join requests at that channel or above.
- Invite only: people join only with an invite or through a list you import.
- Closed: people are added only through a list you import.
A channel can also be hidden from search.
Ways to bring people in
- Join link and QR code: every channel has a join code. Share the link, or print the QR poster.
- Invites: send an invite by email or copy the invite link. A staff invite can give a role when it is accepted.
- CSV import: upload a list of people. Notifyi checks every row and shows which rows need a fix.
People sign up once and use the same account for every organisation they belong to.
